As drawing became more difficult for Hood due to her neck injury, illness, and aging, collage provided her a way to quickly express her ideas.  She found much joy in these compositions and her collages embody this sense of play. Whether Hood created this collage before or after her time spent in India is unknown, yet it relates to the spiritual connection she felt to the country and Eastern philosophies. Evoking a feeling of home and domesticity, she combined green and pink marbleized paper resembling wallpaper, a depiction of what might be a small Mughal painting (a style of Indian miniature painting), a plate border filled with animals and fruits, and other patterned papers that suggest Asian fabrics and paintings.
